‘Wednesday’ will have a season 2 among Netflix series. It was something obvious since a few days after its premiere. We had reasons and arguments: in addition to one of the best Netflix series in 2022 (and one of the best series of 2022 in general), the premiere of ‘Wednesday’ was a resounding success on the platform, breaking records and sneaking among the most watched in its history. So what was Netflix waiting for to renew the series? It wasn’t until early January 2023 that Netflix confirmed the season with a teaser announcement.
In an interview with Empire, co-creators Alfred Gough and Miles Miller have revealed that they are optimistic about the potential future of ‘Wednesday,’ referring to episodes released as a “first” season of the series. Dropping that he and Millar have discussed with each other what might come next, Gough says they are eager to explore the rest of ‘The Addams Family’ universe. “Miles and I are talking to each other about it. There’s definitely a lot more to explore in the Addams world.”

It aired between 2021 and 2023 and consists of two seasons and a total of ten episodes. The first season, promoted under the label “Los protegidos: El regreso”, was pre-released on Atresplayer Premium on September 19, 2021[1] and on December 8 it premiered on Antena 3,[2] airing the rest of the episodes during that month. After being renewed for a second season,[3] it was titled “Los protegidos: A.D.N.” and premiered on December 18, 2022.[4] On February 8, 2021, the show was renewed for a second season.
On February 8, 2021, it was revealed that the series would be written by Carlos García Miranda and Curro Serrano with García Miranda as script coordinator.[9] In late March 2021, it was confirmed that the sequel series would be titled Los protegidos: El regreso and would consist of four episodes.[10] Filming for the series began on April 16, 2021 with José María Caro as director.[11] The series began shooting on April 16, 2021.

Los protegidos: El regreso es una serie de televisión española de fantasía que comenzó a emitirse en Atresplayer Premium en septiembre de 2021. Consiste en una continuación de Los protegidos, ambientada aproximadamente una década después de los acontecimientos tratados en la serie original.
Ambientada una década después de los acontecimientos que cerraron felizmente Los protegidos, la familia Castillo Rey -un grupo de personas inicialmente sin relación entre sí y dotadas de habilidades sobrenaturales- vuelve a unirse para hacer frente a una nueva amenaza[1].
La serie consiste en una continuación de la serie Los protegidos,[5] que se emitió en Antena 3 de 2010 a 2012. Ninguno de los dos creadores de la serie original (Darío Madrona y Ruth García) participó en la reposición[5]. La producción aseguró el regreso de los principales miembros del reparto original, a excepción de Priscilla Delgado (Lucía), que fue sustituida por Maggie García[6].
Producida por Atresmedia Televisión en colaboración con Buendía Estudios [es] y Boomerang TV [es], Montse García, Curro Novallas, Jorge Redondo y Teddy Villalba fueron acreditados como productores ejecutivos.[1] Compuesta por 4 episodios, la serie fue dirigida por José María Caro y escrita por Carlos García Miranda y Curro Serrano.[1] El rodaje comenzó en abril de 2021.[7]

Montse García, Sonia Martínez, Jorge Redondo and Carlos García Miranda are the executive producers of the series, scripted by Carlos García Miranda and Luis Gamboa and directed by Pablo Guerrero and Daniel Romero. Teddy Villalba and Pepe Ripoll are in charge of production management.
